Ingredients

  • 1 Pre-cooked chicken breast refrigerated or thawed if frozen
  • 1 spritz Olive oil spray or avocado oil spray
  • 1 pinch Kosher salt optional, for flavor refresh
  • Aluminum foil for tenting if needed
  • 1 sprig Fresh herbs optional, thyme or rosemary work well

Method

  1. Remove chicken from refrigerator 10-15 minutes before reheating to reduce temperature differential.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (176°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Lightly spray chicken breast with oil on both sides to create a moisture barrier.
  4. Place chicken breasts in air fryer basket with at least 1/2 inch spacing between pieces.
  5. For whole chicken breasts, cook at 350°F for 5-7 minutes total, flipping halfway through.
  6. For sliced chicken, cook at 350°F for 3-4 minutes total, flipping halfway through.
  7. Check internal temperature with digital thermometer. Must reach 165°F (74°C) minimum for food safety.
  8. Allow chicken to rest for 1-2 minutes before serving to redistribute internal moisture.

Note

  • For exceptionally dry chicken, create a loose foil tent over the chicken during the first half of reheating.
  • If chicken seems very dry, place a small heat-proof ramekin with 1-2 tablespoons of chicken broth in the air fryer alongside the chicken.
  • Never overlap chicken pieces; maintain single-layer arrangement with airspace between items.
  • Chicken should only be reheated once after initial cooking for food safety.
  • Timing will vary based on the thickness of your chicken and your specific air fryer model.
